Foot or Sole Pain!

Today my friend is asking for a recommendation to get a insole for the sole pain.. I do see SoooOoooOOOOO many people who have sole pain, even my neighbour is also having sole pain..

Just thought i could share my thoughts if you have sole pain.

If you have sole pain, it is medically known as PLANTARFASCITIS. You can search more information in this term on the internet.

I'm not going through the signs and symptoms..for that you can read through the internet.. I'll share with you the treatment to manage YOUR PAIN!

Couple of suggested solution:

1. See a doctor, and get a steroid injection. *Warning* It is only advisable for the most 3 jabs because it will not be good for the soft tissues and bones..

2. See a physiotherapist and get some excellent treatments, which includes (depending on the assessment) hot/cold therapy management, electrotherapy modality, deep friction massages, therapeutic exercises (stretching). You can also get excellent relief with various taping techniques. Some recommended ones include sole support, low dye tape. Ask your physiotherapist~!

3. get an orthotic for immediate relief!! Orthotics refers to insoles or heel cups. You can easily get them from any sport shops, shoe shops. If you want some customized medical insoles, you can try http://www.vasyli.com/ . I know one supplier which you want, i can give you his number and get some discounts~ :)

Hope this helps

There are couple of good evidence for the use of tape for foot and ankle management.

The effects includes
1. altering the biomechanics of foot motion, thereby relieving loading and stress to the injured structures

2. providing support

3. elastic taping e.g system taping therapy would be useful to improve circulation, provide support and provide gentle deloading to the structures without causing restriction therefore allowing healing and promoting movements.

did i say also taping also provide neurophysiological modulation with the afferent input of the tape helps to relief pain IMMEDIATELY.. (consider pain gate theory)

but in your case..it was kindda very sensitive.. need to reduce sensitivity, therefore perhaps, reducing afferent inputs instead? (so on crutches now for non weight bearing??)
